Established in the United States since 1985, with learning centers in more than 50 countries and students all around the world, Florida Christian University is a not-for-profit, global reach institution of higher education for Christian adult learners who seek to integrate advanced studies with their Christian lives.

Our mission is to further the education and to prepare and equip Christian ministers, professionals, and laypersons for their religious and professional lives. Our purpose is to deliver, locally or through the learning centers, or through the flexibility of all the distance learning forms, high quality higher education programs that improve the life of our Christian students.

Florida Christian University was founded by our late President Rev. Dr. Harold L. Shindoll, ThD, under the name Florida Theological Seminary, as the culmination of his lifelong goal and aspiration. After his death, in 1998, Mrs. Dr. Floralee Shindoll, PhD was elected President. On December 10, 1999, Mrs. Dr. Shindoll nominated the Vice-President Dr. Anthony B. Portigliatti, PhD to be elected as the President and Chancellor.

Florida Christian University is a Certified Member of the Florida Council of Private Colleges, Inc. (FCPC) which represents its member independent colleges and universities before any government or educational agency. We are exempt of licensure and exempt of the jurisdiction or purview of the Commission for Independent Education (CIE), Florida Board of Education (FBE), in accordance with the Chapter 1005, title 1005.06, of the Statutes of the State of Florida.
